Promethean does private survey and interview work with small and mid-sized digital agencies across the U.S. They use this work to refine their strategic frameworks. 2023 – Formalization of the RevGen Review

2024 – Broader Research Availability

In 2024, Promethean Research solidified its position as a leading authority in digital agency strategy and benchmarking. Their release of Bending, Not Breaking: The State of Digital Services 2024 provided a comprehensive 39-page analysis of the challenges and growth patterns within the digital agency sector. The report dove into revenue growth rates, service mix shifts, pricing methods, profitability, efficiency, team dynamics, and the impact of artificial intelligence on agencies.

For the first time, Promethean made this report accessible beyond its traditional client network via its newly released research shop, signaling its broader relevance and demand across the industry.

Biography

Nicholas Petroski is the founder of Promethean Research, a boutique consultancy based in Akron, Ohio, that specializes in helping digital agencies achieve sustainable growth and improved margins through data-driven strategies. Since founding the firm in 2015, Nicholas has assisted over 100 digital agency owners in better understanding their industry and charting more effective paths to success.

Before establishing Promethean Research, Nicholas worked as an equity analyst at a Wall Street firm, where he covered the enterprise software and semiconductor industries. This experience gave him a strong analytical background that he now applies to the digital agency sector.

Nicholas is also known for his contributions to industry discussions and events. He has shared his insights on digital agency growth and trends through various platforms, including podcasts and conferences.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Nicholas enjoys backpacking around the Midwest and woodworking in his spare time.
